Rideau Canal

Last night was a lot of fun!  We met Paul at his place in Ottawa and then went to The Canal to go ice skating.  Like good ole' Canadian boys they had their own skates.  I had to rent. 

So we walked into the rental trailer and the girls at the counter say "are you returning those?" (looking at Aaron and Paul's skates) I said "no, I'd like to rent a pair!"  They said "we are not renting out skates for the rest of the evening, you see we close at 8pm tonight because this section just opened so we are slow". ( At that point I was a little disappointed because we drove 1hour and 15 minutes to experience the Canal)  Aaron says "it's just 10 after 7 can we please just rent a pair?", the girls looked at each other and said " well we don't do half hour rentals, you'd have to pay for the hour".  Yes, we'd like to.  Ok, well we will do it because our boss isn't here right now.  But you'd better have them back before 8pm.  What did they think we'd steal them...come on!

Anyway, we got the skates and had a good time.  We returned the rental trailer about 10 minutes before 8 and the girls say really loud to their boss...."see!  we got them back!, the boss says, "well GOOD!. 

Oh well...we will most likely return and enjoy it then to.  We'd like all our friends from NY to enjoy The Canal.
